Wine with Seth is a free AI-powered progressive web app for wine education, tasting analysis, and cellar management. It was created by Seth Cysewski, a WSET Level 3 certified wine educator with over 20 years of experience in the wine industry, including work with Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, Marchesi Antinori, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, and Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.
Features and Modules
The app includes nine integrated modules:
- Wine Lookup: Identify any wine by typing its name or photographing the label. Returns AI-generated producer information, tasting notes, food pairings, drinking windows, and educational context.
- Tonight's Pour: Enter multiple wines to generate side-by-side tasting cards with descriptors, structure meters, stories, and food pairing suggestions.
- Tasting Journal: Log wines with structured tasting descriptor chips, BLIC scoring (Balance, Length, Intensity, Complexity), QPR (quality-price ratio) tracking, and label photos. Includes a blind tasting mode where users build a tasting profile from scratch, then reveal the wine and receive an AI-scored letter grade with feedback.
- WineWiki: An AI-generated wine encyclopedia with over 2,000 entries covering grapes, regions, terroir, winemaking, vintages, wine terms, and producers. Articles include cross-referenced terms that link to related entries.
- Wine Trivia: AI-generated quizzes across eight topic categories and four difficulty levels from Novice to Master of Wine. Every question is fact-checked by a second AI pass.
- Flashcards: Five study decks covering wine terms, winemaking, grape varieties, terroir, and producers. 30 cards per session with mastery tracking.
- Blind Tasting Trainer: Structured deductive tasting practice with progressive clues revealed in stages (appearance, nose, palate, structure, terroir hints). AI scores guesses with letter grades and field-by-field feedback. Four difficulty levels from Novice to Master of Wine.
- My Cellar: Wine collection management with AI-powered entry from label photos. Tracks drinking windows with color-coded statuses (Too Young, Opening, Peak, Closing, Past Peak). Supports import from CellarTracker, Vivino, InVintory, and any CSV file. Swipe gestures for opening bottles and logging tastings.
- Food to Wine Pairing: Type any dish and receive three expert wine pairings with explanations of why each works.

Wine with Seth offers three tiers. The Free tier provides access to all nine modules with usage limits and requires no account. Pro costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year and includes unlimited access to all modules, cloud sync, and 25 cellar wines. Collector costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year and includes everything in Pro plus 500 cellar wines and import/export from CellarTracker, Vivino, InVintory, and CSV. Both paid plans include a 14-day free trial.
Technology
Wine with Seth is built with React 18, TypeScript, and Vite, hosted on Vercel. AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude, routed through a secure serverless proxy. The app is a progressive web app (PWA) that works in any mobile browser and can be installed to the home screen without an app store. No personal data is stored.
